 Dear Students,

Welcome to Spring 2025 in Animation Design! This capstone course will challenge you to refine your skills and work collaboratively on professional-level projects. This semester, we will:

  • Begin with a boot camp on production-style workflows and techniques.

  • Use industry-standard tools like Storyboard Pro and Moho Pro to craft and animate stories.

  • Collaboratively produce short animated films for submission to festivals, with the goal of earning IMDb credits.

Weekly, you’ll complete:

  • Reading Assignments that delve into advanced animation concepts and storytelling.

  • C-E-R Typed Responses to enhance your ability to critique and articulate creative decisions.

  • Visualization Assignments to plan and storyboard your films.

You will work in teams to develop compelling projects, and Skills Performance Exams will help ensure you’re ready for industry expectations. Your PBL will culminate in the production of a festival-ready animated short film, integrating all the skills you’ve honed throughout the pathway.
